Source Management System
EPA's Market Operations Branch has been working on a re-architecture project to modernize and improve the usability of the CAMD Business System (CBS). CBS is a web application that enables industry users to perform tasks online, such as registering a plant/unit for a program, assigning designated representatives, transferring allowances, performing annual compliance and opening general accounts. CAMD, EPA Region and State staff currently use the Source Management System (SMS) to perform similar tasks. The updated CBS will consolidate CBS and SMS into one application named the CAMD Business System.

Based on industry user feedback, we have incorporated enhancements to the user interface, as well as added new functionality designed to make submissions less time-consuming and more streamlined.

The updated application is not scheduled for release until late 2017, but you will have an opportunity to test CBS later in the year, and provide additional feedback. A detailed email regarding testing will be coming soon. We will provide tutorials to help guide you through the testing process, and CAMD staff will be available to assist you if you have any questions.

Please note that the updated CBS requires Internet Explorer 10 or 11 (or Edge), Chrome, or Firefox. Apple/Mac users may be able to use Safari, but the updated CBS has not been tested in Safari, and some functionality may not be available.

We will keep you updated on our progress throughout the year. Rest assured, CAMD personnel will be available to assist you as you transition to the updated application. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Laurel DeSantis at (202) 343-9191 or desantis.laurel@epa.gov.
